Before starting a day trek in Kashmir, it’s important to get prepared even for a one-day trek, the following info will help you to get the best out of the trail and help in future short or long treks:

Weather and Season Information: Get the weather forecast of Kashmir before going into the mountains and contacting a local operator or guide of that particular area will help too.  Most of the treks mentioned below are seasonal treks and are the best match for day treks during the right season only.

Things to Carry: Staring from 10 to 25-liter backpack which must include rain gear, down jacket or fleece, first aid, hydration pack, sun protection, mapping information, for energy or nutrition dry fruits, energy bar, packed dry lunch, photography gear, identity card and passport for foreigners. The last gear is a pair of good hiking boots.
